Brazil

Completed Expeditions:
2021, 2022, 2023, 2024

Conservation Wild has a wide range of conservation initiatives in the Brazilian Pantanal, in both the north and south of this tropical wetland, the largest in the world.  We work with and support four main organizations as well as participate in fieldwork related to jaguars and giant river otters in the Northern Pantanal, with the Jaguar ID Project and the Giant Otter Project (Projeto Ariranhas).  In addition to our work with wildlife, we support Panthera Brasil’s school at Jofre Velho

In the south, we co-facilitated a reforestation project with the local, Indigenous communities of Limão Verde and our partners,
Chalana Esperança.  We also lead annual conservation expeditions in the Pantanal for others to join us in the field and see our initiatives and the incredible animals we work to protect.

Costa Rica

Completed Expeditions:
2021, 2022, 2023

In Costa Rica, we work in both jaguar and sea turtle conservation with our partners, Tortugas Preciosas and Nama Conservation.  We help implement multiple initiatives for both species, assist in reforestation, and lead annual fieldwork Expeditions to this beautiful country.

In 2023, we were able to participate in a special project with Tortugas Preciosas as they put a GPS transmitter tag on an adult, Hawksbill sea turtle and re-released her back into the ocean.  On each our Expeditions, we have been fortunate enough to allow our participants to assist in the release of hundreds of baby sea turtles as they hatch from their nests in the hatchery.

Belize

Completed Expeditions:
2021
Belize was the first location we began working in when Conservation Wild was established. Because of this, our deep friendship with our partners, and the Founder's long history of work there, Belize is a very special and unique location to us.

Our main partner organization is the Community Baboon Sanctuary (CBS) for Black Howler monkey conservation.  It is run by the local women's group and is a key pillar of the community for environmental education, reforestation, and wildlife preservation. We also work with the Belize Tapir Project and Ya'axche Conservation Trust. On these Expeditions you will be spending time at CBS, assisting them in the jungle with trail clearing and monitoring of Black Howler monkeys as well as participating in tree planting for their reforestation initiatives.

Join our next Belizean Expedition that is sure to leave a lasting and remarkable impression.

Namibia

Completed Expeditions:
2022, 2023

In Namibia, we work in pangolin conservation with our partners, Pangolin Conservation and Research Foundation (PCRF).  Each year, we join them in the field to assist with tracking and tagging pangolins in the wild with the Indigenous San bushmen.

PCRF and its Founder/Executive Director, Kelsey Prediger have created the first ever, Pangolin Ranger Team in the world!  We lead annual fieldwork Expeditions to this otherworldly country for others to join us and see the incredible work, firsthand, that PCRF is doing to protect pangolins, the most trafficked mammal in the world.
